Strathblane to Schoenstatt

Sixteen Bosco Ramblers turned out today for the nice and gentle walk to Ballencleroch House at Campsie Glen which is the Home of the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary. The Order was founded in Germany by Father Joseph Kentenich in 1914, and gradually over the years spread Worldwide eventually reaching Scotland in 1962 by a Sister Xavera. In 1989 with the aid of two nuns Sr Margareta and Sr Patricia a Shrine was established at Ballencleroch House and in 1995 the formation of the new Centre was established offering families, individuals and groups a place to relax and breath and enjoy a piece of Paradise here on Earth.This is a walk that the Ramblers have done a few times in the past and I'm sure that they will all agree with me when I say that if you are in the area then the sisters will make you very welcome, even to a cup of tea.
