About Us

Hill walking, rambling, or just out for a stroll is a pastime i'm sure which is enjoyed by most people. Not only do you benefit from the adventure in health terms, but just to take part with other people of like mind i'm sure, would be the rewarding experience of a good day out. With this thought in mind a few of the parishioners decided some 4 years ago to set about creating such a group of people to do just that.

An informal meeting was arranged to find out the number of people walkerwho would be interested in forming the group, and to discuss venues, how often to walk, and most importantly, a name for the group. The Bosco Wanderers was Christened and it was decided to opt for an every 2nd saturday Venue leaving the church car park @ around 0900hrs, and returning usually by mid afternoon, depending on where the walk is taking place. Mr John McGarry, with the help of a few others, came up with a yearly outing plan which is now used as a basic guide to our all year round rambling club

We operate a car sharing pool to minimise the amount of cars parking at venue points, and are always open to anyone interested in joining us on our days out. Could i just say if you are, then you will be only too aware of the scottish weather and some of the conditions you will be likely to meet, therefore could i suggest stout boots or shoes and most important some form of waterproof clothing.

In the meantime if you have any questions you would like to ask, then don't hesitate to get in touch with either John McGarry ,  Jim Caldwell or myself Joe Roche, or if you already know any of the walkers then I’m sure they will be only too pleased to answer them for you.
